Since our Urban Bourbon Half Marathon and 5K is meant for those age 21 or older, you must be at least 21 on race day to register.
The Bourbon Bash at Fourth Street Live! is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Race participants can enjoy a sampling of bourbons from several Kentucky Bourbon Trail distillers. You can also enjoy Bearno’s Pizza, local craft beer, burgoo, vegetable soup and plenty of photo opportunities. The popular local band Louisville Crashers will perform.
Guest admission to the Bourbon Bash is $30 and can be purchased online during registration, at packet pick-up and on race day. Packet pick-up and race day purchases are cash or credit cards.
New this year, we are offering a Bourbon tasting at Against the Grain Brewery in Louisville Slugger Field, the same location as our general packet pickup. There will be two options – 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.; each seating can accommodate up to 40 people. Led by a Bourbon expert, you’ll explore the unique styles of four, distinct Bourbons.
Included in the tasting program you will learn how Bourbon is made, the history of Bourbon distilling, the background and history of the Bourbon you are tasting and how each bottle earned its name. At the completion of the program you will have learned how to taste, nose and differentiate the flavors from the Bourbons you have sampled.
UBHM and UB5K participants – and others wishing to join in a unique entertainment experience – can score a custom-made, collectible pin on our Urban Bourbon Walk. Visit one – or all – of the locations on Oct. 18. Runners who show their finisher’s medal and make a purchase can receive a custom pin. Each establishment will have a different colored pin, so collect them all!
NOTE: We are currently finalizing the list of participating establishments. Check back in the spring for more information.
