Getting Around

A Walkable Downtown

Downtown Louisville is very walkable and has a lot to offer to those who find themselves with a little extra time.

In a city famous for Bourbon, downtown Louisville is home seven Bourbon distillery experiences. You can walk to any or all of them: Angel’s Envy, the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, Old Forester Distillery, the Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse, Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co., Rabbit Hole Distilling and Michter’s Distillery. Or check out Louisville’s Bourbon District, where you’re never more than five minutes from the next attraction.

As you walk through downtown, you can choose from more than 100 different restaurants that offer just about every type of cuisine you may want. This surplus of sustenance may have contributed to Louisville being named one of the “10 Tastiest Towns” by Southern Living, the “Next Hot Food City” by Zagat and “One of the best foodie towns in America” by Bon Appetit.

There’s also Museum Row, Louisville’s Waterfront Park and local shops in the NuLu district, just east of downtown. Want more things to see and do? Click here to download a downtown walking map.

LouLift is a complimentary service with fast-charging, all-electric bus that produces zero emissions. Offering FREE rides throughout the main downtown corridor, this is the fastest and easiest way to get around. Click here to get more details, route information and maps.
